In the Grove we lift heavy canopies off roofs and power line drops, thin oaks and banyans before hurricane season, and leave the hammock look the neighborhood is known for.
Coconut Grove is one of the oldest neighborhoods in Miami, with a dense hardwood canopy of banyans, live oaks, gumbo limbos, and mahoganies over narrow, winding streets from the North Grove to the South Grove.
Grove yards can be so shaded that lawns and gardens die out and roofs stay damp, so owners call us to thin the canopy and let light through. We prune to ANSI A300 standards, removing dead, crossing, and weak limbs while keeping the tree's natural form. We never hatrack, since topping a big hardwood leaves it weaker and uglier. Limbs touching energized power lines are a job for the utility, and we prune everything else.
Before any regulated tree work we coordinate with the City of Miami and, where it applies, Miami Dade County. An ISA Certified Arborist on our team reviews the trees with you. Call (305) 615-9169 or send your plan or photos with the form below.
Lots are wooded, streets are narrow, and the canopy often grows over two or three properties at once. Like the rest of the Rock Ridge, the soil is shallow over limestone, so roots spread wide.
